About the company:
The Battle of Britain lasted from 9 July to 30 October 1940. It went down in history as the largest air battle of World War II, in which more than 4,000 aircraft took part. It was a triumph for the Royal Air Force. The museum dedicated to this historic event is located on a small airfield in Kent, and is among the most popular museums.
The history of the museum dates back to the late 1960s, when a group of enthusiastic aviators decided to open a private museum at their own expense. Among them were many veterans, participants in those events. As a place to place the exposition perfectly suited preserved from the time of the War aviation hangars, located in the south of England, near the small town of Folkestone.
After the creators of the museum decided on the place, the exposition was formed quite quickly. The project participants surveyed more than 600 crash sites of British and German military aircraft, and donated part of their personal collections to the museum funds. In 1971, the doors of the new museum opened for visitors, and it still attracts numerous tourists from all over the world. There is a lot to see here, especially for those who are passionate about the history of World War II. A particularly strong impression on the guests is made by the British fighters "Spitfire" and "Hurricane", preserved in excellent condition. They were the main heroes of that battle.
