Costume Museum

Bath Assembly Rooms, Bennett St, Bath, BA1 2QH

About the company:

The Costume Museum has more than 30,000 collections of different types of clothing since the late 16th century. The collection shows examples of men’s and women’s fashion, accessories, photographs and other related fashion.

The history of the museum begins with the collection of Doris Langley Moore, a collector and costume designer who founded the museum in 1963. Since then, the original number of exhibits of the museum has tripled to 30,000, so the exhibits are exhibited in turn for a certain time. The oldest exhibits of the museum are embroidered shirts and gloves, dating from about 1600.

In 2007, the museum changed its name to the Fashion Museum.
