Museum of Science and Industry

Liverpool Rd, Manchester M3 4FP, UK

About the company:

Manchester, as the center of the industrial revolution of the XIX and XX centuries, as the place where the first truly large factories and factories appeared, today allows you to get acquainted with the history of its industrial development. This can be done in the walls of the popular Museum of Science and Industry of Manchester.

The building once housed an old train station, but in 1978 the city bought it from the British Railway for a symbolic price of one pound. Since 1983, a new museum has been opened here. A special feature of the museum is its exceptional interactivity. All models are mobile, all parts spin and spin, images are constantly changing on huge screens, and the visitor is involved in a complex production process. Here you can see models of old steam engines, factory machines, locomotives, cars and even the very first computer in the world, born in 1948, which marked the beginning of the general computer revolution.

A guest card with a barcode, which you receive at the entrance, allows you to take part in competitions and quizzes, as well as, especially children like, see your photo on a huge display, next to the portraits of famous scientists and inventors. This is a museum for curious children and adults who are ready not only to watch, but also to learn something new.
