About the company:
The SeaCity Museum is an innovative art museum dedicated to Southampton’s connection to the sea, opened in 2012. The museum is located in an original modern building in the center of the new Cultural Quarter. The area of the exhibition halls is two thousand square meters, for the year the museum is visited by about 150 thousand people. It contains artifacts, interactive exhibits and information about Southampton’s maritime past from prehistoric times to the present day, as well as practical classes.
The expositions of the museum are divided into three sections, two of which are devoted to the history of the legendary liner “Titanic”, the crash of which occurred in 1912, in honor of the centenary of which the museum was opened. Here are facts about the naval officers and flight mechanics who worked on board the ship, their courage and heroism in saving people, as well as vivid memories of that terrible night of the few surviving passengers.
The exhibition hall for temporary exhibitions is located in a specially built pavilion on the territory of the Civic Center. The SeaCity Museum is a significant attraction in Southampton and is of great interest to locals and tourists.
