Museum of Transport

Boyle Street, Cheetham, Manchester, Greater Manchester M8 8UW, United Kingdom

About the company:

One of the main attractions of Manchester is the Museum of Transport, which aims to preserve rare examples of the automotive industry, as well as the development of the transport industry in the city and the metropolitan district of North-West England. The exposition of the museum is one of the largest in the UK, its feature is the unstable composition of samples.

Many of the exhibits in the summer travel around the country, attending various events, and returning to the territory of the museum, often find themselves out of place. Therefore, visitors who came here for the second time, may be very surprised to see the unusual location of the exhibits.

The Museum of Transport was founded on May 27, 1979, and immediately gained enormous popularity. Every day there is work related to the repair of cars. Professionals go about their business and do not pay attention to the cameras of tourists.

The establishment has an extension set aside to house a collection of buses, which number about 100 pieces. The oldest exhibits of the Museum of Transportation are trolleybus and tram, owned by the company Ashton-under-Line, dating from 1901.
