Liverpool John Lennon Airport
Description:
Liverpool Airport is located 12 kilometers from the city center. In 2002, the airport received a new name - in honor of musician John Lennon, one of the members of the musical group "The Beatles".
Liverpool John Lennon Airport was the first airport in the UK to be named after a famous person from the music industry.
In each part of the airport there is something in the interior that would remind of the famous band “The Beatles”: a bronze statue of Lennon in front of the check-in hall, a huge yellow submarine located in front of the entrance to the airport. The cafes and restaurants at the airport also have a Beatle design.
But the most important attraction is in front of the entrance to the airport - the airport motto is written on the roof of the main building - "Only the sky above us" - this is a line from Lennon's song "Imagine".
