St. George's Cathedral. Anne

Ireland, Belfast, Donegall Street

Description:

The spiritual center of the Irish Protestants is located in Belfast – this is where the Cathedral of St. George is located. Anne belongs to two Protestant diasporas: Connor and Down-and-Dromore.

The cathedral was opened in 1898. The structure is made of light stone in the Romanesque style, which distinguishes it from most Gothic Irish temples. Particularly impressive are the mosaic stained glass windows of the cathedral.

In the temple lies the famous politician in Ireland, the leader of the opposition Lord Carson, who died in 1935.
