Edinburgh – the splendor and splendor of the Georgian city

Description:

Architectural Paradise of the Georgian Era
Luxury palaces, skywardly majestic cathedrals, magnificent palaces - that's what you will see during my tour of the "New" city - this is the name of one of the historic districts of Edinburgh.

It is no coincidence that the word “New” is taken by me in quotation marks, and the reason for this is as follows: it is not new at all, but the most old. The district of the city, which arose during the reign of King George in the 60s of the brilliant 18th century.

The tour program:

  • Walter Scott, poet, writer and rabid Scotsman. The monument to him is lace in stone, or a Gothic rocket. Reflections at the monument - how to live your life so as to deserve from grateful descendants the highest monument in the country.
  • Where the most luxurious ladies of Edinburgh danced at balls, as well as guests of the city who came from distant Russia, such as, for example, Countess Dashkova, a companion of Empress Catherine II;
  • How the young doctor Arthur Conan-Doyle began his career and where the murder occurred, which marked the beginning of the detective activity of the young trainee doctor;
  • Find out the history where St. Andrew’s Cathedral went and who ate it;
  • We will also visit the Georgian house and get acquainted with the daily life of the “ordinary” millionaires of the Georgian era and learn what is for dinner today and what the guests talk about in the salon.

The tour program also includes a visit to the National Gallery, where we will briefly visit to get acquainted with famous Scots on the historical canvases of the most prominent representatives of the British school of painting.

The magnificent conclusion of the tour will be the inspection of the amazing castle, nicknamed “Hogwarts school”, as well as the ancient village of millers, cozy located along a small river.
