Glasgow Botanical Gardens

730 Great Western Road, Glasgow G12 0UE, United Kingdom

Description:

Glasgow Botanical Gardens are known worldwide for their impressive greenhouses and an extensive collection of plants from around the world. They were founded in 1817 and include an arboretum and a public park with amazing landscape design.

On the territory of the park, which occupies about three hectares of land, there are several greenhouses made of glass and wrought iron. This is the Kibble Palace. This stunning building of the XIX century retained its Victorian grandeur after extensive reconstruction. On its territory, occupying about 2000 square meters, there are valuable national collections of Australian fern, tropical orchids, begonias and other exotic plants. The whole garden is bathed in the aroma of flowers, of which there are many.

Here you can wander around the garden, admiring the old majestic trees. During a fascinating walk along the Kelvin River, visitors enjoy the picturesque landscapes of the surrounding nature. The botanical gardens are a visited tourist attraction and provide the perfect backdrop for photos.
