Tour of Liverpool
Description:
Liverpool is a city in the north-west of England, at the mouth of the Mersey River and the second largest export port in the UK. The historic part of the port city, including the main attraction of Albert Dock, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2004.
The Merseyside Maritime Museum covers everything related to shipping and port life, as well as the history of the world’s largest ports and, above all, how much they meant to the people who lived at the time.
Liverpool Stadium (Anfield Stadium)
Everton Football Club may not be as famous as FC Liverpool, but the atmosphere at the stadium is quite comparable, so, without a doubt, it is worth visiting the match with Everton, often on the day of the competition you can easily buy an extra ticket. In any case, the stadium itself, called Goodison Park, is a fantastic sports facility.
The Anglican Cathedral is the largest cathedral in the UK and the fifth largest in the world. Without a doubt, this is one of the most significant attractions of Liverpool.
Matthew Street is the street where the legendary Liverpool Four began their career. Today, everything is connected with the name of the Beatles: a monument to John Lennon, the old entrance to the Cavern Club (the place where the Beatles gave their first concert), a store entirely dedicated to the Beatles. Also on Matthew Street is the Grapes pub, where the musicians spent time for a beer in between performances (the club “Cavern” then did not sell beer). Today Matthew Street is a popular holiday destination with many bars, clubs and pubs.
