Tour to Stonehenge
Description:
Stonehenge is the most famous and impressive of European megalithic monuments. In its original form, Stonehenge was to amaze with its power and grandeur. The treated stones were white and rose 5-8 meters above ground level.
The construction of Stonehenge was carried out in stages from 3000 BC (the beginning of the era of construction of the Great Pyramids in Egypt) to about 1600 BC. In the center of the building was a circle of 30 vertically placed sarsens, on which a ring lay another 30 stones, tightly connected to each other. This construction was to be one of the precise and symmetrical works of architecture. In the center of the circle stood 5 huge trilitons weighing up to 50 tons and 80 Blue stones brought from Wales. The whole structure was surrounded by a deep moat with a two-meter embankment. The entrance to the center of the monument was from the northeast on the so-called Stonehenge Avenue.
The very design of the complex was unique and incredibly complex. What was the idea behind building this complex for 1,500 years? How were the immovable megaliths for tens and hundreds of kilometers to the Salisbury plain, where the normal building material was wood, chalk and flint. What is the hidden geometry of the whole complex?
Strangely, Stonehenge is oriented to the astronomical cycles of the sun and moon. The axis passing through the center of the monument coincides with the axis of sunrise at the summer solstice on one side and sunset on the other. What astronomical knowledge should humans have and how did they use it? Was Stonehenge a primitive observatory or calendar?
People gathered here for big festivals. Was Stonehenge a multi-purpose ceremonial center associated with fertility, death and rebirth? Was it a Druid temple with blood-chilling sacrifice ceremonies?
During the tour we will try to answer these questions. Give options for possible answers by referring to all existing theories in archaeology, astrology, mathematics, engineering, geometry, history, myths and esotericism. We can stay here for a minute and think about the eternal. Maybe it's a temple of prayer, built to attract and harmonize the forces of space to help life on earth. If you wish, you can visit other monuments of the Neolithic era located nearby.
Sunrise on June 21 and sunset on December 21 are still celebrated at Stonehenge with a big festival!
