Billingsgate Fish Market

Trafalgar Way Poplar, London E14 5ST

Description:

The fish market offers visitors a variety of fish and seafood. There seems to be no goldfish here.

The market is located at the foot of the famous London skyscrapers of the City. Billingsgate has been around for centuries. Since the XVI century, only fish and seafood have been traded here. About 25,000 tons of fish are sold annually on the market, most of which are British. Fish is also imported from other countries: Holland, Russia and others. The market starts in the early morning (at 5am) and closes at 8am.

All the restaurants, fish shops, embassies and, of course, residents who specially stood up for it in the early morning are purchased in this market. Here you can see huge sharks, oysters, crabs and other marine life put up for sale.

We advise the market to wear wet shoes and old clothes so that new clothes do not smell like fish, and feet do not get wet from a large amount of water on the floor.
