Borough Market
8 Southwark Street London SE1 1TL, UK
Description:
Borough Market is one of London’s largest grocery markets, offering a huge selection of organic and local products.
The market is located under a railway bridge and consists of three different parts.
People come to the market mainly to eat and buy food. Here you can buy meat, fish, seafood, cheeses, vegetables, greens, sweets. Before buying everything you can try, and some even limit themselves to this, quite full after a few tastings on the shelves. Everywhere along the way, the market sells soups, which are poured into small glasses (such as espresso for coffee), make cheese sandwiches, sell smoked fish, sausages, hot mulled wine and other goodies.
The market was founded several centuries ago, and now it unites 130 racks of various entrepreneurs selling food at prices markedly different from those in department stores.
You can go to the market from Thursday to Saturday: on Thursday it runs from 11 to 17, on Friday - from 12 to 18, and on Saturday - from 8 to 17.
