Emirates Stadium
75 Drayton Park, London, Greater London N5 1BU
Description:
Emirates Stadium is the home stadium of Arsenal Football Club, officially opened by the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip in 2006.
The stadium is a 4-tiered bowl of four stands with a roof. In the middle tier there are places for VIPs. The stadium has a capacity of 60,432 and is the third largest stadium in London (after Wembley and Twickenham).
The stadium has one of the best lawns in the world, because the field provides the maximum possible influx of sunlight and air.
The first match played at the stadium was Dennis Bergkamp's farewell match against the former Ajax club in 2006. The game attracted 54,000 spectators and Arsenal won 2-1. In the same year, the first official game took place at the stadium (Arsenal’s match with Aston Villa, which was attended by 60,023 people).
