City of Westminster, WC2N 5DN, United Kingdom

Description:

Trafalgar Square is central to London. Here converge the three main streets of Westminster - Strand, Whitehall and Mall.

In the center of the square is the famous monument - a column with a statue of Admiral Nelson at the top. It was erected in honor of the victory of England in the Napoleonic wars, which was expressed in the decoration of frescoes made of melted French guns.

The square is a traditional place of performances, demonstrations and mass celebrations, such as the New Year. At this time, the main tree of the country, brought from Norway, is installed here. Also on the square, politicians usually give their speeches or statements, so, in 1945, the end of World War II was announced here.

Recently Trafalgar Square is popular not only because of its place in the history of the country or beauty, most recently the square was chosen by pigeons, which became a kind of attraction. Tourists really like to feed them, and you can take pictures with birds.
