London City opened in 1987. The airfield is equipped with only one runway, the length of which is only one and a half kilometers. However, it is in close proximity to London's main business districts, making it the main airfield for flights that fly officials and business representatives.
In 2011, 3 million passengers used the airport services.
The unusual location, design of the compact terminal, special requirements for the type of aircraft make London City one of the most interesting airfields in the world.
