Exchange Square Square
Corporation St, Manchester, Greater Manchester M4 3AJ, UK
Description:
Some parts of the city of Manchester resemble giant shops. This also applies to Exchange Square, around which stylish boutiques and charming cafes are located.
The square in its modern form originated in 1996, when many buildings in the area were damaged by explosions by the Irish Republican Army, and a complete reconstruction and redevelopment of the space was carried out.
Today the square is a mecca for lovers of good and stylish things. In the shopping centers there are boutiques Harvey Nichols, Marks and Spencer, Selfridges and many others. In the old building of the exchange on the square there is a chic trading pavilion with goods of the highest price category. People go here not so much for shopping, but for the opportunity to see new trends in the latest collections from famous designers.
From the west to the square are adjacent to two ancient half-timbered houses, remembering the times of the Tudor dynasty, and the Cathedral. On the north side is Urbis, a huge modern exhibition center. It opened in June 2002 and now houses the National Football Museum. And another city landmark was registered on Exchange Square – a mobile Ferris wheel, which is always popular with children and adults.
