Manchester Piccadilly Bus Station

Description:

Manchester Piccadilly Bus Station connects Manchester's largest train station with the city centre. Technically, this is the final stop at which the buses going in this direction stop, since the station building with storage rooms and waiting rooms does not exist. Near the Manchester Piccadilly bus station is Metrolink station, connected to Piccadilly Gardens. The station was opened in 1931 on the site of a destroyed hospital. In 1932-1933, the Manchester Piccadilly bus station was expanded to Parker Street.

Currently, the bus station's dominant destination is the Piccadilly Gardens - Greater Manchester route, passing through Arriva North West, Finglands and Manchester Community Transport. There are also private buses running through Glossop, Macclesfield, Huddersfield and Stalybridge. Near the Manchester Piccadilly bus station there is a small cozy square equipped with benches and a fountain, where tourists usually gather waiting for their flight.
