Bramar Castle
Description:
Bremar Castle is located in the vicinity of the village of Bremar, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The village of Bremar, where the castle stands, is known as the venue for Braemar Gathering, a festival of Scottish national games, music and dance.
The famous Scottish castle Bremar was built in the 17th century near the village of the same name on the site of a much more ancient, destroyed by wars and time fort Doldench. Bremar was originally built as an additional residential building near the old castle of Kindrohit. Its surroundings were not only a favorite place of royal hunting, but also an object of national importance, as Bremar was a crossroads of several roads. So the owner of the castle, along with the lands, received a certain power.
