Dunvegan Castle

Description:

Dunvegan Castle was the residence of the MacLeod Clan for almost 800 years and remains so to this day. Not the most attractive outside, it looks like a house with turrets. However, the inside looks much more luxurious than you might expect.

The most interesting is the flag of the castle, which members of the clan took with them to military performances. According to legend, a clan can only use it three times when it is most in need. It is now a bit tattered and partly ragged, as many members of the clan took a piece for good luck when going to war.

Among other interesting relics in the castle there is a magical bagpipe, which made any songs magical. Since the musical instrument is stored in the walls of Dunvegan, the fame of playing bagpipes does not cease, and therefore there are regular competitions of musicians playing a traditional Scottish instrument.

Dunvegan Castle will definitely appeal to you with its legends and centuries-old traditions.
