Museum of Childhood

42 High Street, Royal Mile, High Street, Edinburgh EH1 1TG

About the company:

In 1955, Edinburgh City Councilman Patrick Murray concluded that there was no museum dedicated to children. There is nothing like this in the world, and then the idea was embodied in the real Edinburgh Museum of Childhood. This is one of the most unusual museums you have ever seen. Here you can find ancient Egyptian dolls, the first board games, huge railways and wooden cradles.

First of all, the museum is designed for children. But adults do not lag behind the children, enthusiastically looking at the exhibited wealth. The five floors of the museum are filled with various things. Several floors occupy expositions in one way or another related to games and toys. Today there is the largest collection of antique dolls, soldiers and plush toys. If you had a favorite toy as a child, you will find it here. Other floors occupy everything that is directly related to children. Here you can see cradles, baby cots, tiny dresses that are several hundred years old, baby dishes and even a collection of night pots.
