Parrsboro Rock Mineral Museum

349 Whitehall Rd Parrsboro, NS Canada.

About the company:

The Parrsboro Rock Mineral Museum-Shop has gained its fame as a museum where the smallest footprints of the dinosaur coelophysis are stored. The footprints were discovered on April 10, 1984, on a cliff in Parrsborough Harbour.

Founded in 1948, the Stone Shop is one of Canada’s oldest stone shops. Outside the building does not stand out anything special, but it is surrounded by stones with information signs. Inside, the room is also filled with various stones – local fossils, rocks, minerals. Here you can see sculptures and souvenirs made of natural materials, semi-precious stones and exotic shells.

The museum’s collection contains fossils that are about 300 million years old. The museum presents newspaper clippings and photographs of particularly remarkable finds.

Those who wish can buy souvenirs here.
