Cardiff Castle

Cardiff Castle, Castle Street, Cardiff CF10 3RB, Wales, United Kingdom

Description:

Cardiff Castle crosses all the usual ideas about medieval castles. First, the castle is located right in the center of the city and is its heart. Secondly, Cardiff today is not a ruin, but a beautifully preserved castle that welcomes everyone.

Throughout its 2,000-year history, the castle was both a lodging house and a court - until finally the authorities took it under their care and turned it into a cultural heritage and pride of Wales.

At the entrance you are greeted by a beautifully restored massive gate, which already set tourists up to meet the Middle Ages. In a comprehensive tour, you are invited to watch a small film about the history of the castle, visit the castle itself with its chambers, explore the bomb shelter and the military museum.

The interior of the castle amazes the inhabitant. Rich wood finish with skillful carvings, colorful stained glass windows, a rich library. Many tourists say Cardiff Castle has the most striking interiors they have ever seen.

But the pearl of the castle is considered the Clock Tower. It is colorfully decorated with paintings and small figures that represent the sun and planets.

Aesthetic pleasure brings not only the inner luxury, but also the surrounding areas. There is a garden with a large collection of Mediterranean plants. And in the garden walk proud peacocks, which are fed by visitors.
