Many travel guides call Katay Park the pearl of Cardiff and the most beautiful urban park in the British Isles. In addition to the beautiful nature, the park has many examples of architecture of the late XIX – early XX century, monuments, sculptures.

Katey Park consists of three garden areas, significantly different in appearance and filling. These are the Alexandra Garden, the Gorsedd Garden and the Monastery Garden.

Alexandra Garden was named after Alexandra of Denmark, wife of King Edward VII. This is the most central part of the city park, there are many amazing flower beds, and in the center stands the famous Welsh National War Memorial. The Gorsedd Garden, named after a community of Welsh bards, has a memorial stone circle built in 1899 to commemorate the Eisteddwod, the Welsh National Festival, here. The monastery garden was built in honor of the Marquis Bute, the former owner of these lands, who preserved them from building. In this part of the park there are many garden sculptures and hedges.
