Park Hasienda La Floresta
Santa Maria, Caracas, Venezuela
Description:
For more than two centuries, the Hasienda La Floresta Park has existed between coffee trees and reeds. It is located near the city of San Jose de Cacao, which was founded in 1768. From the very beginning, coffee and sugar cane were grown here. In 1855, there are at least 13 sugar and 44 coffee plantations on the outskirts of the city.
La Floresta survived the devastating earthquakes of 1812. The difficult years of the War of Independence and the economic crises associated with changes in world coffee prices led to a strong decline in the profitability of their farms. Despite all this, now the villa has become a great object for tourists.
Nowadays, the park is a plot of land planted with trees and shrubs, located on the outskirts of the city, having an area of about 10 hectares. Tourists are attracted by beautiful large flower beds, on which many exotic plants grow. The park has many woven benches where you can relax in the shade of tall broadleaf trees. Also, there are three small gazebos with a woven top in the Baroque style. In La Floresta, coffee and cane plantations have been preserved, as well as outbuildings in the colonial style.
