Museum of Sacred Art
Avenida Oeste 2, Caracas, Venezuela.
About the company:
The Museum of Sacred Art has been operating since 1992 and is located in a colonial building. There used to be a church prison and cemetery. During archaeological excavations under the building of the museum was found an old burial with sealed 12 tombs. It is possible that the first bishop of Caracas is buried in one of them.
The museum consists of two adjacent rooms, which host permanent exhibitions dedicated to Venezuelan religious art. The collection includes paintings, drawings, furniture and objects of worship, which are brought from various monasteries and chapels from all over the city. The museum hosts concerts and other cultural events.
