Simon Bolivar Airport
Description:
Simon Bolivar Airport is located in Venezuela, 21 kilometers from the center of Caracas.
The airport named after Simon Bolivar is located not in Caracas itself, as is commonly believed, but in the territory of the settlement of Maiketia (which is 20 km north of Caracas).
Caracas Airport began to serve regular flights in 1960, when the main airline of the country - VIASA - chose this airfield as a hub airport. Passenger traffic at the airport was constantly increasing, aircraft of other companies began to be serviced.
In 1997, VIASA ceased to operate Simon Bolivar Airport as a hub airport. In the early 2000s, the airport was reconstructed, the purpose of which was to achieve compliance with the latest international standards.
In order to improve the safety of passengers, the arrival and departure zones were completely separated. A taxi is located near the international terminal of the airport. From the main stop of the airport depart 2 bus routes.
