Mother's Day
Description:
In 1908, a young American woman named Anna Jervis of Philadelphia launched an initiative to honor mothers in memory of her mother, who died prematurely. Anna wrote letters to state institutions, legislatures, and eminent persons with a proposal to devote one day a year to honoring mothers.
In 1910, Virginia was the first state to recognize Mother’s Day as an official holiday. Although in fact it is a holiday of eternity: from generation to generation for each mother is the most important person for their children.
