Debrecen Grand Church

The Great Church of Debrecen is very popular as a historical monument. It is the largest Protestant church. Dating from 1805-1822. The architect is Mihai Peci. Built in a classic style. It is famous for proclaiming the Declaration of Independence in 1849. Located in the center of the city, you can easily recognize the two towers. It can hold up to three thousand believers. The facade without decorative elements, decor only on the capitals of the columns. Visiting the church is paid – 350 forints. The towers, which lead to 200 steps, offer a magnificent view of the city. In the temple, concerts of organ music are periodically held, to listen to which not only local residents converge. Debrecen is located 260 kilometers from the Hungarian capital. You can get there by plane, train, rented car on the highway M3 and M35, taxi.
