Greek Catholic Church

4032 Debrecen Deri ter 1, Hungary

Description:

The parish of the Greek Catholic Church in Hungary, Debrecen, Debrecen, West Hungary and the Debrecen region, is one of the six canonical regions of Hungary. According to the Local Church Act 2006, it is governed by a Greek Catholic bishop. His diocese has about 12,000 believers, and it covers much of western Hungary, where its predecessor was the center of the Greek Catholic Church. The building of the temple was decorated in neo-Gothic style. The temple was consecrated led by the Greek Catholic Bishop of Romania, Father Roman, who was in Hungary in the 1830s and visited it during his visit to Hungary as a Romanian bishop. In the same year he died in Hungary and was buried in a temple.

The easiest way to get to the attraction is by bus from Budapest, which departs from the Keleti bus station in Debrecen every half hour. It is also possible to get there by car or by train.
