Esztergom

The charm of the Danube bend

Description:

Excursion trips to the bend of the Danube are a visit to three cities.

Esztergom is the religious center of the country, where the monumental, the largest Basilica of Hungary, located on the high bank of the Danube, is located.

Visegrad is a town where an ancient fortress rises on the top of the mountain, from which one of the most beautiful panoramas of Hungary opens in good weather. At the foot of the mountain are the ruins of a medieval palace lost for several centuries, within the walls of which a museum is now open.

Szentendre is a small picturesque town with an atypical Mediterranean character for Hungary. In its narrow winding streets love to walk as Hungarians and tourists from all over the world, because there are many different museums and galleries, souvenir shops, shops of artisans. There are many churches in Saintendre, including Orthodox churches. In addition, there are wonderful cafes with author’s ice cream, colorful restaurants with delicious cuisine and, of course, cellars with wonderful Hungarian wine.

The usual duration of such a trip is about 7-8 hours.
