Gornad River

At the foot of Kralevaya-Gola mountain in Slovakia, the Hornad River begins. The length of the river is 286 km, of which 118 km flows in Hungary (there are four hydroelectric power plants on the river). Among tourists and locals, the picturesque banks of the Hornad River are very popular (picnics in nature). The Borshod-Abauy-Zemplen region, through which the river flows, is the northernmost, picturesque and densely populated territory of Hungary. Tourists can find here entertainment for every taste.

You can get to the Borshod-Abaoui-Zemplen region by car, train or bus in 2 hours (209 km).
