Pec Villagne
Description:
I would like to invite you to the south of the country, to one of the oldest cities in Hungary.
Pec, formerly the European Capital of Culture in 2010 and dating back more than 2,000 years. At the end of the 3rd century there was the residence of the governor of the Roman province of Pannonia Valeria - Sopiane. You will see the burials of the first Christians, listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List, a unique Romanesque Cathedral, unlike any Catholic church, at will - the only functioning mosque in the country with a preserved minaret and a museum of Turkish art products and the museum of the famous Zholnai porcelain factory. And lastly, you will visit the extraordinary street of wine cellars in the heart of the wine-growing district of Villań, also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you will taste magnificent local wines and taste the most delicious dishes of Swabian cuisine. This route is one of my favorite tourist routes in Hungary.
