Description:
The Phuk Kien Temple, sometimes called the Hall of Meetings, was built in 1679. The building is a magnificent example of traditional Chinese architecture. The main theme used in the design of the temple is related to the sea. To the right of the altar is an exact copy of the sailing junk, and the inner courtyard is equipped with an altar dedicated to the founders, who are depicted in the form of six sitting figures.
The Phuk Kien Pavilion is the home of the goddess Thien Hau, the patroness of sailors. It also honors the goddess Thuan Phong Nhi, who has the ability to hear ships thousands of miles away from shore, and the goddess Thien Lu Nhan, who has the gift of seeing ships hundreds of miles away.
In the design of the temple you can see a large number of patterns with the image of animals. So, the sculpture of fish, symbolizing luck and achievement, is located in the center of the fountain, decorated with mosaics. In addition to fish in the decor of the building there are images of a dragon, a unicorn, a phoenix, a turtle. They all have a sacred meaning, because the dragon symbolizes power and strength, the turtle - longevity, the unicorn - knowledge, and the phoenix is a symbol of nobility.
