Ho Chi Minh City

Ku Chi Guerrilla Tunnels and Kaodaist Temple

Description:

During this tour, we will visit the world-famous Ku Chi guerrilla tunnels and the Kaodai temple complex.

About 70 kilometers from the center of Ho Chi Minh City are guerrilla tunnels in which Vietnamese guerrillas fought during the war with the United States. The total length of the tunnels is more than 200 km, they are dug in 3 levels underground at a depth of 2 to 12 meters. During the tour, we will watch a black-and-white film of the war, visit the gun shop, get acquainted with the types of traps and traps that were installed in these places to fight the Americans, go down to the first level of the tunnel and shoot American weapons at the shooting range (optional).

After inspecting the guerrilla tunnels, we will travel to the neighboring province of Tai Ninh, where we will observe the rite of worship in the most important Kaodaist temple in Vietnam. The Kaodai religion was founded in the early 20th century and includes elements of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Catholicism, Spiritism, Islam and mysticism. Kaodaists worship the spirit of Kaodai, which is depicted as the left male eye. We will observe religious rites by climbing the balconies inside the temple itself. The temple itself and the clothes of the parishioners are distinguished by a noticeable diversity. The purpose of this unusual religion is to reconcile and unite all the inhabitants of the planet, despite the differences in religion.

After the tour, lunch in a local restaurant (at your own expense)
