ChristmasOn December 25, the "Joncanu" festival is held in Jamaica. "Joncanu" is a traditional celebration dedicated to Christmas. Two whole days of the holiday are accompanied by masquerade processions and musical performances. The streets are filled with crowds of people in costumes.

The tradition of holding this celebration dates back to the past of West African secret societies, and the holiday itself was in the past a major holiday for slaves.
