Thanksgiving Day in Japan

Rice is harvested, the land is ready for winter.Today, Japan celebrates a national holiday – “Day of gratitude to work”. *

Under this name, the holiday was established in 1948, and historically the day was called the “Feast of the New Harvest” and was founded as a traditional celebration of the completion of agricultural work.

After harvesting, along the fields you can see a collection of models of clothing.

Nowadays, the holiday unites all types of work. At the heart of the holiday is the reverence of work: the Japanese thank each other for the possible help that they have contributed to the development of society.

On this day in many places there is also a holiday of agricultural workers - the nogosai, established in 1962.
