State Foundation Day (Japan)
Description:
The scattering of the Japanese islands
To remember the day of the founding of the state, to educate a heart that loves the country.
This is the slogan defined for the Founding Day of the State (Kenkoku Kinen-no Hee) in the National Holidays Act.
The Book of History of Japan, founded during the Nara period (710-794), states that the day of the founding of the state of Japan is the day of the ascension to the throne of the first Emperor of Japan - Jimmu. Translated into the Gregorian calendar, this date was February 11, 660 BC.

Although the existence of Jimmu was not a reliable historical fact, the event was chosen to emphasize both in Japan and abroad the legitimate authority of the government, concentrated at that time in the hands of the Emperor. The first Emperor of Japan has a reign date of 660-585 BC, and his name reveals a long list of rulers of Japan.
