About the company:
The Maritime Museum in Yokohama is an unusual museum, which is located not in the building, but on board the famous sailboat Nippon Maru, built in 1930. Now it is a floating museum that tells visitors about the history of the Japanese fleet.
The permanent exhibition of the museum consists of five zones: “History of the port of Yokohama”, “Ship Nippon Maru”, “History of the development of ships”, “Images of the port of Yokohama”, “Ports of peace”. A visit to this museum will be especially interesting for fans of this topic.
The 300-foot-long vessel was originally built as a training ship for students who studied merchant shipping. He served until 1984 and was able to host more than 11,000 students. After decommissioning, the ship turned into a tourist attraction.
