You will see the park, where there are about a thousand charming tamed “bambi”, who are completely free to walk along the paths. Among the shrines, the dominant place is occupied by the Great Buddha Temple - Todaiji (literally translated - "Great Eastern Temple") and Kofukuji - a 55-meter five-tiered pagoda of the early 15th century. The temple of Nigatsu-do, which is dedicated to the Buddhist deity of mercy, known in Japan as the Bodhisattva Kannon. The temple is famous for the water purification ceremony, which has been held for 12 and a half centuries. Founded in 768, the Shinto sanctuary of Kasuga Taisha (Temple of the Spring Sun), famous for its alleys of stone lanterns, also arouse the keen interest of all visitors to this cute provincial town.
