Nara

Nara is a city of deer.

Description:

Nara is the first imperial capital of the country (710-784), a real open-air museum, which houses the most important Buddhist buildings, such as the Kofukuji temple with the Hokuendo pavilion (720), the Todaji temple with the "Hall of the Big Buddha" Daibutsuden (VIII century) - one of the largest wooden buildings in the world (height 57 m), one of the largest bronze Buddha statues in the world - the Great Buddha (Daibutsu, 16 m high, 452 tons), the temple of Horyudzi (founded in 607 g).

Nara is the administrative center of Nara Prefecture in the Kansai region. In 2010, Nara celebrated its 1300th anniversary. With its eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Nara is Japan’s second most important repository of cultural heritage.

The main attraction of the Japanese city of Nara is the spotted deer, more than 1000 tame deer, which are considered "divine messengers".

They are declared sacred animals. Deer feel great, wandering in herds and alone in the streets waiting for a treat (food crackers are sold everywhere). It is not allowed to drive deer away (even if the deer falls asleep on the highway, it should be carefully circumvented)

Funny animals, during the lure of tourists, some lose their shame (they can bash, get into a bag that smells like food). In the autumn, as with monkeys, you can not look animals in the eye.
