Chiquiri Castle

Kishiwada Castle or Chikiri Castle was built by Hidemasa Koide in 1597. Nobukatsu, rulers of Okabe Mina, took possession of the castle from Takatsuki in 1640. The Okabe family has maintained its position for 13 generations (until the Meiji Restoration). The main tower of the castle was destroyed when lightning struck in 1827, but was restored in 1954, and is now also used as a museum.
