Detailed description of the tour
8:30 Transfer to Fuji Kawaguchiko takes about 2 hours (125 km)
On the way to the first object, we will pass the famous roller coaster (some of which are included in the Guinness Book of Records) amusement park Fuji-Q-Highland, located in Yamanashchi Prefecture, as well as the infamous mystical forest of Aokigahara where we will make the first stop. Without even 100 steps into the depths of the forest, we will discover a truly unnatural view of the roots of trees growing above the ground, resembling the tentacles of an osminog over which a tree rises. Since ancient times, the forest was associated with Japanese mythology and was traditionally considered a habitat for demons and ghosts. In the famine years, the elderly were taken away and left in the forest. I will tell you more about this place and the traditions of the time that will surprise you.
Next, we will move to one of the most popular places in the prefecture - the thematic village of Iyashchi-no-sato. On the mountainside, we will see the traditional houses of the Middle Ages – Minka, in which we will definitely look and get acquainted with the works of the masters of this area (all the works presented can be purchased). In one of the houses you can change into the armor of a samurai, kimono or ninja. In this form, you can walk around the village feeling like a resident of the village, take pictures against the background of houses and of course against the background of Mount Fuji, which will appear in all its glory. I will tell you more about this place.
12:00 We will dine here in the village with traditional Japanese cuisine, in good weather we will sit on the street enjoying the beauty of Mount Fuji, vegetables and mushrooms that will be present in some seasonal dishes are grown in the gardens and are environmentally friendly - what the restaurant workers tell visitors with pleasure.
The road to one of your chosen objects will be along a picturesque road along the lakes Saiko and Kawaguchi, a favorite place of avid fishermen.
Based on the weather and your preferences, we will visit one of 2 options:
Option 1. We will visit the kimono museum of the outstanding master Ichiku Kubot, who became famous all over the world for reviving and modernizing the ancient national technique of working with fabric, forgotten many centuries ago. This is a technique of ornamental coloring, in which the pattern is applied to the base, painted in a twisted form and includes the use of gold and silver threads, as well as embroidery. One kimono could take up to 1.5 years to create. The drawing is voluminous, which makes a strong impression on visitors to the museum.
At the end of our program, we will stop at the wine center, where the wines of Yamanashi Prefecture are presented. You will have the opportunity to try several recommended wines and, if you wish, buy your favorite wine, as well as related products.
Option 2. Park on the shores of Lake Kawaguchi and climb on an unusual themed funicular to the height of 1075 meters of Mount Tenzo. The mountain is also called Kachi-kachi-yama and is associated with a fairy tale whose characters are present everywhere from the lifting platform. From the top of the mountain offers stunning views of the city, as well as Mount Fuji, lakes and amusement park Fuji-Q-Highland. For lovers there is a heart-shaped bell overlooking Mount Fuji for a memorable photo, you can also try your luck by getting a plate in the “needle” eye. Come to a small rabbit sanctuary, and then taste rice sweets dango or ice cream with the taste of green tea.
At the end of the program, we will visit the museum of author’s dolls by master Yuki Atae. Dolls 30 cm high are made in accordance with the exact proportions of the person, due to which they do not need stands. Dolls look alive, as if frozen in the moment, and their facial expressions are so realistic that it is impossible to take your eyes off. The details of clothes and shoes are thought out to the smallest detail, especially in a series of children's poor post-war times. The highlight of the collection are unusual creatures with wings, one of which you want to take with you. Yuki Atae’s works were exhibited in New York and Paris. The museum has 3 exhibition halls, 80 characters and a souvenir shop.
