Mount Fuji is the No. 1 place of power in Japan. In ancient times, the Japanese believed that Taoist immortals lived there. That is why they made a pilgrimage to the top to find eternal life.

Fuji is an active stratovolcano on the Japanese island of Honshu, 120 kilometers southwest of Tokyo. The height of the volcano is 3776 m. Now the volcano is considered weakly active, the last eruption was observed in 1707-1708. Fuji is one of the most popular places to visit by travelers from all over the world.

Mount Fuji is divided into 10 stations, the picturesque serpentine highway Subaru line will lead us to the most unusual 4th station at an altitude of 2000 m. Here we get out of the car and get up (within 30 minutes). "above the clouds" along the Leshoi trail and admire the breathtaking views of the main volcano of Japan and frozen lava. According to Japanese beliefs, climbing to the 4th platform of Fuji brings success and luck in undertakings.

And ahead of us is the Museum of Unique Japanese Dolls by master Yuki Atae, where you can admire the most interesting exposition, numbering about seventy figures. Atae revives the art of doll making in Japan

Yuki Atae was born on September 17, 1937, in Kawasaki City. His dolls are known for their fine detailed work, the subject of his work is often to convey childhood innocence or nostalgic themes.

Many of his dolls pass on Japanese children of the time Atae says people were materially poor but spiritually rich. Some dolls show scenes from life, all the experiences and emotions that the author wanted to convey. " In the past, many children wore dirty clothes and were snotty noses, but they were clean and with shiny eyes full of hope, he said, adding that he wants to preserve in his dolls what has been lost over time. His dolls have been exhibited overseas at the Louvre in Paris as well as in New York and are used in films and television programs. His works are also called “Sculptures clothed in fabric” and they are truly amazing. So they say and write about his works: “They can make the jaw drop, tears fall, and legs stop in their direction.”

Walk along the shore of the volcanic lake Kawaguchiko and admire the floral lavender field and the reflection of Fuji in the water mirror.

By cable car, Kachi-kachi will climb to the nearby Tenzo Mountain. The height mark at its terminal station is more than 1000 meters above sea level. From here from the observation deck we have stunning views of volcanic lakes.

It's lunchtime. We are waiting for a cozy original restaurant of Japanese cuisine. Dishes with haze will be served on the traditional wooden table "irori". We will try the noodles "hoto", "tempura", made with local ingredients.

And in conclusion, a mystical temple dedicated to the goddess of Mount Fuji - Konohan Sakuya-hime. A place of spiritual power, from where the ascent to the sacred mountain began in ancient times. There are over a thousand Shinto temples dedicated to Fuji in Japan. Fuji Sengen Sanctuary is the oldest Shinto sanctuary on the shores of Lake Kawaguchi. It is built in honor of the Shinto deity of Mount Fuji, Konohan Sakuya Hime (Princess of Spring Blossom) who is the patroness of marriage, fertility, childbearing and protection from fire. To the shrine leads the alley of centuries-old evergreen cryptomeria, decorated with stone lanterns. The main hall, dance stage and several temple buildings date back to the 17th century. The temple holds the gift shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu about the transfer of Fuji to the sanctuary. Since then, Mount Fuji has been owned by a Shinto temple. Every year, about 400,000 pilgrims climb Mount Fuji, many of whom stop at the temple to wish themselves a safe ascent. We will be able to look into the gray antiquity in the quiet atmosphere of this place.

The famous mountain in Japan is associated with many signs. For example, it is considered a good omen to see “red” Fuji in the rays of the rising or setting sun, her image brings good luck in money. We will try to do this by visiting the temple at sunset.

The tour allows you to get as close as possible to the top of Mount Fuji. This trip will appeal to those who love mountain climbs, art, antiquity and history and are looking for an opportunity to enjoy unforgettable landscapes.

Of course, you will return from this trip a new person, full of inspiration and new discoveries.
