Tokyo

Historic Tokyo

Description:

Mandatory review program for those who first visit the country of the Rising Sun.

In 8 hours we will visit the main attractions of Tokyo and get acquainted with completely different areas of the metropolis. During this walk we will move from one era to another.

We will start our tour from the place where the city began to grow, from the Imperial Palace, which is a real architectural masterpiece and consists of buildings, pagodas, stone bridges, arches and gates made in traditional Japanese style. Here you can feel the breath of eternity, solemnity and nobility - exactly what was inherent in the imperial dynasties of Japan at all times. Walking among the bizarre compositions of the Japanese cedar, you will immerse yourself in the history of the world’s oldest royal dynasty, learn details from the life of the ruling emperor and his relatives. Since 1987, the Emperor of Japan and his family have lived in this area. We will not ignore the East Garden of the Imperial Palace, created in 1603 by the famous master of landscape gardens Kobori Enxu.

Next, we will move to Asakusa Historic Quarter, the center of the Sitamati district, (lower town), where the traditional atmosphere of old Edo still hovers. Through the “business card” of the “Gate of Thunder” district, we will get to the souvenir street Nakamise-dori, where all sorts of souvenirs are sold from multi-colored trays, from huge rice crackers to exclusive porcelain geisha. This is one of the best places to buy gifts for yourself and your friends. Take a look at the local shops and try a healthy and varied street food.

Following countless pilgrims, we will inevitably arrive at the most famous Buddhist temple in Tokyo-Konryuzan Senso-ji (Temple of Young Grass on the Golden Dragon Mountain), its foundation occurred long before Tokyo received city status.

Enjoy traditional Japanese cuisine in one of the restaurants of the old district.

After the rest you have a new adventure and new sensations. The other side of Tokyo is the bubbling, heterogeneous, non-standard, advertising and mind-blowing Shibuya youth district. It is here that you can see how the capital’s youth rests and how they live. Thousands of shops for fans, bright signs and confusing streets. All this very clearly conveys the rhythm of the city.

At sunset, when neon lights flash over the city, we will climb to the transparent outdoor area of Shibuya Sky. From the height, we will see the entire panorama of the evening city and perhaps even the snow-covered peak of Mount Fuji.
