Tokyo Skytree
Description:
Tokyo Skytree is the tallest TV tower and the second tallest building in the world (634 meters), officially recognized by the representatives of the Guinness Book of Records.
Two observation decks are located inside the tower at an altitude of 350 and 450 meters.
The tower is shaped like a samurai sword. The construction principle is borrowed from traditionally Japanese pagodas. At the base of the tower lies a triangle and is the most stable structure. As the tower grows, it gradually transforms from triangle to circle. The main purpose of the construction of Tokyo Skytree is to broadcast radio signals for broadcasters, since the current 333-meter tower can no longer cope with this task.
In addition to observation decks, the complex houses a planetarium, an oceanarium, a theater, a museum and about 300 boutiques. You can visit the tower from 8:00 to 20:00, the ticket price for an adult tourist from 2000 yen.
For the first anniversary of the opening of Tokyo Skytree was visited by more than 50 million people.
Part of the observation deck of the first level is a glass floor made of glass of special strength - those who wish can see the city right under their feet.
