Kagon Falls

Kegon no Taki, 2479-2 Chugushi, Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan

Description:

Resting on the lake Tüzen-ji, you will definitely visit the picturesque waterfall Kegon, whose water falls from a height of 97 meters. Millions of years ago, volcanic lava flows blocked the riverbed, which led to the formation of a waterfall. Special spectacle kegon give twelve small waterfalls located on the sides of the main stream. All of them also make their way through hardened remnants of lava flow.

Kagon acquired its name thanks to the Buddhist school of the same name (which, in turn, is named after one of the Buddhist sutras). Since 1930 there is a lift on the waterfall.

Kagon Falls is also notorious. This place is very popular among Japanese teenagers.
