Aden International Airport
Description:
Aden is a city in Yemen, located on the shores of the Gulf of Aden. It occupies a small peninsula connected to the mainland by a narrow isthmus. Aden is known as one of the most important ports on the way from India to Europe. The architecture of the Old City blended Yemeni, Indian and Victorian styles. On the perimeter of the Old City there are the remains of the fortress wall and towers, the Aden reservoirs, or the so-called Tawila cisterns (artificial pools carved into the rock), the palace of Sultan Lahej, which now houses the National Museum, the Al-Aidarus mosque. There is an airport of international importance in the city. The new terminal was built between 1983 and 1985 with a capacity of one million passengers per year.
