Des Dorns Valley
N1, De Doorns 6875, South Africa 397 m
Description:
De Dorns is the name of the valley and town of the same name between Port Elizabeth and Johannesburg. The history of the city of De Dorns begins in 1819, when two local farms were bought for the construction of a railway station. To date, De Dorns has become not only a business and commercial center for the entire valley, but also for all nearby cities.
Interesting point: "De Dorns" literally means "thorns". This is what the first Dutch settlers called the valley, apparently in honor of the prickly shrubs that grow here everywhere.
