Namakua National Park
Description:
Namakau National Park is located north of Cape Town in South Africa, near the border with Namibia. The park received official status in 1998 and was created specifically to protect wildflowers.
Most of the year, the park is a boring desert landscape. In spring, each corner represents an unforgettable picture of chamomile and other spring flowers, filling the soul with joy. In autumn, the Namakau sand valley turns into a sea of wildflowers.
Only in Namakau you can see a huge variety of vegetation (about 3,5 thousand species), more than in any other arid place on Earth.
Tourism is one way to preserve the unique beauty of nature. Especially for visitors, a pedestrian route is organized through the most picturesque places, there are many places for a picnic and the opportunity to spend the night in cozy chalets.
